Hollywood’s leading men are usually perfect physical specimens. Those who aren’t become character actors.
Except James Marsden. He’s pursued quirky characters despite his leading-man looks. Marsden is the guy on the sidelines, the goofy one who doesn’t get the girl. So his face is familiar but not immediately identifiable.
“Most people are like, `Didn’t we go to high school together?’” said the 35-year-old actor, whose screen credits include “Superman Returns,” “The Notebook” and three “X-Men” movies. Read the rest of this entry »

Both share this, though. Each actor takes turns upstaging the younger performers in the R-rated teen romp Sex Drive, which opens next Friday.
In the farce, an anxious teen named Ian (Josh Zuckerman) travels 500 miles by car to hook up with an internet dream girl so he won’t be a virgin his first year at college.
Naturally, he takes his best friends, Felicia (Amanda Crew) and Lance (Clark Duke), along for the ride and to give him support. Unfortunately, Ian also borrows his brother’s classic Pontiac GTO.
Marsden plays Rex, Ian’s cad brother who torments his younger sibling with a taunting self-assuredness then chases after them to get his prized car back. Read the rest of this entry »
