Richard Kelly’s latest chiller The Box finally has a release date. In a rare turn of events, the movie has been moved up from its proposed original release date in November to arrive just in time for Halloween!

According to Box Office Mojo October 30, 2009 is the new date we can pencil into our calendars.

Tracy Morgan and Martin Lawrence have joined the cast of Chris Rock’s “Death at a Funeral,” a remake of the 2007 British film of the same name.

The dark comedy, which has Rock pulling triple-duty as producer, co-writer and star, takes place at a funeral ceremony that quickly turns chaotic as romance, jealousy, blackmail and family secrets come into play.

The cast also includes Loretta Devine, Ron Glass, Danny Glover, Regina Hall, James Marsden, Zoe Saldana and Columbus Short. Directing is Neil LaBute, whose credits include “In the Company of Men,” Nurse Betty” and, most recently, “Lakeview Terrance.” … read more »

Richard Kelly’s The Box is moving from a November 6th release to November 25th. This comes after flirting with an early debut this year before moving to November. Cameron Diaz, Frank Langella and James Marsden star.

Actor James Marsden (X Men, Enchanted) will host a tribute to the late songwriter Dennis Linde on Monday (Feb. 9) at the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville. Marsden is married to Linde’s daughter, Lisa Linde. Performers include Montgomery Gentry, Joe Nichols, Mark Chesnutt, Eddy Raven and indie rocker Ben Lee, along with surprise guests. Linde’s writing credits include Elvis Presley’s “Burnin’ Love,” the Dixie Chicks’ “Goodbye Earl” and Garth Brooks’ “Callin’ Baton Rouge,” among many others. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis. A member of the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, Linde died from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2006.
